Yoga's health benefits are endless! Anyone and everyone of any age can enjoy an Asana practice (yoga class).  It connects and unifies the mind-body-spirit calming the nervous system, controlling the breath and the mind. 

You do not need to be flexible (a huge myth and misconception!) and you certainly can be of any age or gender to enjoy the ancient practice of yoga. 

If you are suffering from minor and major ailments, pain, stiffness, tension, stress, anxiety, fatigue, illness or disease; yoga can help in every way. A regular dose of yoga asana will greatly reduce symptoms, stress, anxiety, illness and pain on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. 

Yoga and regular meditation practice have helped to heal Vanessa's life and improve her health and well-being. This love has inspired her to help others through guiding them in their own personal practice.

Training & Certification
 
Vanessa has completed over 500 hours of study and teaching through the Moksha Yoga teacher certification program in Toronto, ON.  She is also trained and certified in Mindfulness Meditation.

The Moksha Yoga sequence of postures are designed to be:

  • Accessible: Designed for all levels of practitioners, body types etc
  • Challenging: No need to hit the gym after!
  • Healthy: Designed for long term health especially spinal health

Moksha Yoga Classes

Vanessa's Moksha Yoga or Moksha "Inspired" classes focus on proper alignment within postures, breath and body awareness and developing a deeper mind-body-soul connection.

Private and semi-private instruction will take your practice to a whole new level or build a solid foundation for your practice if you are a beginner looking to start yoga.

For group lessons, Vanessa is currently offering classes out of Moksha Yoga Brooklin, Moksha Yoga Maple and Moksha Yoga Stouffville. Please view the Moksha International website here.

Couples Yoga

Couples Yoga is a wonderful way to de-stress, unwind, re-connect and just have fun with your partner or spouse in a safe environment either in the comfort of your own home or at one of the various yoga studios that Vanessa currently teaches out of.

Couples Yoga is designed specifically for the couple in mind. Whether it is to rebuild or build upon your intimacy, create a romantic environment and reconnect with your partner or it is simply to try a new activity such as yoga; Vanessa caters to each couple's needs and desires.

This service is also eligible for reimbursement by most insurance companies.

Yin Yoga/Meditation Classes

Yin Yoga is the oldest form of Hatha yoga. Typically it is practiced in order to open the hip, chest and shoulders preparing for a seated meditation practice. This is entirely a "passive" more gentle form of yoga where postures are held for several minutes to open up the muscles, joints, ligaments and lengthen the connective tissue.

Vanessa may follow if requested with a seated meditation class teaching students the basics of meditation, breath work, philosophy of meditation. She will also include various forms of meditation techniques as well as guided visualization meditations to relax, empower and inspire students to live their best life today!
